NCC Banned all telecoms Promo and lotteries yesterday

Ban of all promotions and lotteries by telecommunications operators
The Commission has, in recent times been inundated with several complaints from consumers, Industry Stakeholders against the various promotions offered by Telecommunications Operators.
Consistent with its processes, the Commission has carefully evaluated the complaints received especially against the backdrop of sustaining the integrity of the networks, the general interest of the consumers, the socio-economic impact of these promotions on Operators and other relevant stakeholders.
The Commission is also mindful of its statutory responsibilities such as; to protect and promote the interest of consumers against unfair practices, promote fair competition in the industry by protecting Operators from misuse of market power and anti-competitive/unfair practices by other Operators.
i. In due regard to the afore-mentioned responsibilities therefore and having observed that these promotions have increased the number of minutes available to subscribers for use within a limited period of time thereby creating congestion in the networks as subscribers try to use up the available minutes within the stipulated time.
ii. That on-net calls were now being offered by Operators at tariffs well below the prevailing inter-connect rates thereby introducing anti-competitive practices and behaviour.
iii. That termination of calls were becoming increasingly difficult from one network to another and overall consumer experience on the networks has become very poor thereby making it extremely difficult for subscribers to make calls successfully.
Consequent upon the above-mentioned, the Commission therefore has banned all promotions by Telecommunications Network Operators as well as lotteries being carried out on such networks. This ban covers all proposed and approved promotions and lotteries on which the Commission has given approval further to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into with the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).
This ban is with immediate effect and shall continue to remain in force until such a time as may be determined by the Commission. The Telecom Operators affected by this include the following:
• GLOBACOM LTD
• MTN
• INTERCELLULAR NIG PLC
• VISAFONE COMMS LTD
• ETISALAT
• AIRTEL NETWORKS LTD
• MULTILINKS TELECOMS LTD
The Commission wishes to assure all Telecommunications consumers of its resolve to ensure that the Quality of Service offered across all networks is such that delivers value to the consumers.

Baby Rihanna
This is probably the closest i've ever come to seeing some really shocking look-alike. This one was just too much to let go. If Rihanna had a baby-girl i honestly doubt she'd match this pretty little Naija girl in resemblance with Riri. Damn!!! that's more of a baby clone i'd say...

Seydou and Talia of BBA 7 bring sexy back!!!

Instead they are back together frolicking and showing off their love to fans and haters.
Although Big Brother Africa has over the past 7 seasons created overnight cross-continental stars, none of them seem to have created much frenzy with his or her sex appeal like Seydou has. With a growing fanpage of almost 40,000 fans, the Angolan housemate who left quite early in the competition after his partner opted to leave the show continues to grow his stardom as though he was the actual winner of Big Brother Stargame.

Reasons We Update 'Can't Sleep' on bbm and facebook; Here's Mine for Today
Notice how many times people(even
me) update either on facebook or bbm(blackberry messenger) or even tweet that
they can't sleep at really odd times especially at a time like this one that
I'm writing this. Its 2:30am, no electricity and worse of all the generator don
spoil just yesterday. Which kan wahala be dis one naw ehn... I don't even know
which one to say is the main shareholder in this my insomnia. Is it the buzzing
of mosquitoes or the sound of other neighbor's generator that slices through my
dreams if I'm lucky enough to doze off or the heat that keeps me turning to all
sides of the bed to find a cooler spot for my back. Hmmm na wa oh! Times like
this I'll be wishing that the saying that its true 'the buzzing mosquitoe isn't
the same one that bites'. If only it were true then I'll just close my eyes and
allow the buzzing mosquitoes sing me to sleep but the heat ehn! Worst now is
that my laptop battery has not been proving its loyalty and is on its own slow
pace to 'hibernate' or 'sleep' any moment from now. What a traitor! I have to
sleep oh, anyhow, anywho... Gnite peeps

Exclusive Sunday with Award Winning Director; Pascal Amanfo
Caught up with Pascal Amanfo; one of Africa's Leading film director and the first director to give me a scene after gate-crashing his location set and still just told me he's sure we'd still work together *winks*

I haven't met a more humble entertainment personality than 'Bro Pascal' as i call him even with head-swelling and nose-high achievements.
With notable movie hits like 'Bed of Roses', 'Single and Married', 'Open Scandal', 'True Colours' and many more, Mr Amanfo has been nominated under so many categories ranging from 'best story' to 'director of the year' and has snagged a couple to his credit already including winning the Nafca award 2011 for 'Best Screenplay' for the movie 'Somewhere In Africa' and Zaffa award for 'Best Story' in the same year and i humbly say he is a friend of the family.
Well i asked him a couple of questions and thought i should share... Here...
How's your Sunday Sir?
Where are you @ the moment?
Presently in Accra Ghana in the pre production stage for the shooting of the movie "letters to my Mother"
Any notable faces on this current job?
Starring Majid Michel and a host of others...
Any Favourites in the business?
Favourites in this business? Not really.. I have a host of people who I enjoy working with.. No particular favourites.
You always all around the globe, where is your favourite place outsides our motherland's shores?
Well.. My job takes me around a lot and I particular enjoy London... The richness of history in the city is awesome.
Do you run an acting academy of your own?
Unfortunately I don't run an acting academy of my own.. Its not something I have particularly given a thought to.
Any interesting projects we should look out for?
And yes there's a movie about to be released I am particularly excited about.. its titled HARAM.. Sins of a Nation.. Of course a Pascal Amanfo expression...Its an off-shoot of the Boko Haram scourge tailored along the lines of the Nigerian society.
You once gave me a chance to do a scene or two on your set exactly this time two years ago, i'm looking forward to another one oh, what do you say? *tongue out*
Well I am sure we will work again soon...pretty soon... And I say that will a smile.
Any other matter you would like us to know about or tell us.
In conclusion.. I particularly feel fulfilled this year.. Single and Married my presently released work showed for almost 5 weeks in 9 cinemas across Nigeria... And personally I got back together with my precious wife after a 7 month separation.. My love to my daughter Paula who turns 3 on the 17th.. And to the teeming league of African Movie viewers.. Am blessed you are watching.. And we'll keep getting better...
I honestly do appreciate the time bro... Thanks so much
Bless you Bro

Melcom Boss denies using the top floors of the building as a warehouse
Mr Bhagwan Khubchand-Ani Chairman of Melcom Group of companies, has denied allegations that the 3 top floors of the 6 storey building of the mall that collapsed on Wednesday the 7th was used as a warehouse and had overloaded the place with stock for the upcoming Christmas season.
“This is not true…it is not a warehouse, it is not a wholesale… We have 6 warehouse compounds, totalling over 200,000 sq. ft. only 2 kms away from our Achimota Branch (in the Industrial area, and goods are supplied to the shop as and when required even daily if necessary)….What heavenly reason can we possibly have to overstock the place when they can supply goods to us every blessed day?...What heavenly reason can we possibly have in keeping more goods than necessary? I would prefer to use every square inch of our place in displaying products rather than waste it on storage. If I were a wholesaler it would be different, I’m a pure simple retailer; as in piece, piece (selling). Nobody comes to me and buy in cartons, so why would I save extra goods in a warehouse, for what reason?” he rhetorically asked.
The Chairman, together with the Managing Director and other top executives, were on a visit to the 37 Military Hospital to meet, console and encourage the employees and the public who were affected.
The team, which had earlier been to the Police Hospital, the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital as well as the Achimota Hospital, presented some items to those convalescing.

People cease to concern themselves with affairs that will directly or at least indirectly affect them, their loved ones or their business and jump into totally into irrelevant matters just to hear others say dem don talk. Don't say it doesn't concern me too, after all this one you are reading is my business.
Quit telling us lies if you don't wanna tell the truth Tonto!

Tonto Dikeh has adamantly refused to give in on the identity of her would be lover. Truth be told i honestly think she doesn't have one and its ridiculous that any picture of her and any guy is immediately posted up by funny websites saying "she finally reveals her man" Quit telling lies if you don't wanna tell the truth jare.
“I’m a grown woman I’m not young anymore, so definitely I have someone in my life that I love…that I love to death, i love him, i love him, he makes me happy, he makes me laugh. He’s making me blush, but I can’t talk about him, that’s all I can say”. -Tonto Dikeh
Mario Balotelli's Camouflage Bentley GT attracts all eyes

Italian striker Mario Balotelli has had his £160,000 Bentley Continental GT wrapped in vinyl army camouflage for that special effect.

Balotelli, who crashed his car in the Deansgate area of Manchester earlier this year, acted like his car was just like any other normal expensive motor.
Even surrounded by the many exotic sports cars owned by his team mates, Mario’s Bentley still easily caught the eye.

Ice Prince; I slept on the carpet for one year!

It’s never easy getting to the top in Nigeria’s fast-growing and competitive music industry. Most of the stars today had very rough beginnings in the industry and their stories now are a source of inspiration to the upcoming ones. Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince is one of the biggest names in the Nigerian music industry today, but he had it rough at the beginning. Speaking to Showtime on his birthday about how he rose to the top, Ice Prince said it was a long journey of hustle and bustle filled with many hurdles.“A journey that took me out of Jos where I grew up to Lagos wasn’t an easy one. It was hard for me to settle down. I hustled; I had to sleep on the carpet for one year.“At a point I stayed with Gini and squatted with MI. It was pretty rough but I thank God for what and who I am today. Those challenges I see as molecules that formed me.“Every year is a blessing for me and to add another year makes me great. Although, I am feeling like I am getting older but I’m blessed because all my birthdays have been amazing.“When I was a kid, my parents used to celebrate my birthday and now that I am mature my friends always do something special for me on my birthday. Last year, it was celebrated in Abuja with the likes of 2face and this year, we are celebrating it in Lagos, Abuja and Port-Harcourt”, he said.Speaking further, Ice Prince noted that the industry is fast growing with the likes of D’banj whose music is being played on London radio. He said that as artistes, their primary duty is to create and produce quality music for their fans.According to him, the industry is sensitive and therefore, it is important that everybody strives to make a difference by taking the dream to the next level in years to come.

New Video from D'banj;Bachelor... bashes up his ferrari
You would not believe the kinda news i just got that's got me all pumped and in good spirits... It impossible to believe how fast prayers could be answered. That why most times i think to myself if its possible that God answers only the prayers that he chooses and decides not to answer anyone that he doesn't want to.
Anyway, remember when i talked about family in the previous blog? Yea, this is one of those things i was boldly referring to when i said that, Family is family, and you cant change that, so no matter how ugly it gets... you gotta take em and love em hard. And i really do love mine
Gettin a hang of it
Well, welcome to Nov 10... that last piece actually began my blogging but unfortunately i didnt get to post it and didnt want it haunting me from 'my documents' folder so i just had to let it out first... i mean.. dont you see i feel much better. My writing has come under heavy scrutiny these days as i keep disappointing my primary school English teacher with a series of gbagaun. I've however adopted the habit of blaming my ever-ready to gbagaun elder sister on any mistakes i make on English henceforth and thankfully she no dey disagree again!
Back to my life huh?
I'm still struggling immensely to find the balance between the right thing to at the wrong time and the wrong thing to do at the right time with everything that has been going on since my dads passing. its no more a question of who's right or wrong anymore as it seems. Feels more like a tug of war but who's wants to throw in the towel first?
And the minute one tries to explain to a third party, you run the risk of getting told i understand what you're going thru in the first five minutes of that conversation when frankly the person has no idea or clue what you're going thru. its okay when one tells you " i cant imagine what you're through" that is being honest even tho some ppl prefer to be told lies but for some one who isnt in the same or has been thru shoes to say that he/she knows exactly what you're going thru... at times like that i just wanna take my dirtiest smelly socks and stuff both pairs into your mouth till you really feel how i do.
I'm still very thankful to those who have proved loyal friends and acquaintances. True Titans... As for family? they wud always be family... Annoying, provocative and most times damn irritating but they wud still be family and you gotta take em and love em hard afterall you dunno who you might be annoying, provocating and irritating as well right?... See y'all later..
OK guys... This extract was from the 14th of October when i actually began blogging... but i didnt post it. i still wanna begin from there so amma bring it in. (Ok it seems that my hearing isn’t all that good
anymore cos my mum and aunties are currently singing some really funny hymns or
should I say poems. Anyway, it’s the fourteenth day of October. Just a day to
my mums birthday. Started writing this article on the dining table but
currently sitting on the toilet seat doing some transactions. It’s
been just sixteen days since my dad
died. And frankly, it feels almost like a month infact. Well, we had to leave
lagos you know, leave dr regele’s house and the entire environment that
reminded us of daddys death. I really just found out that one can only pretend
to know what a bereaved person feels only through imagination so sympathy will
always be sympathy. But empathy, is another thing entirely. Even I find it hard
to believe how much I miss my dad. He was everything that was ideal to me. But
ofcourse you all know the saying that you never value what you have until you
have lost it. Well now I guess I’m trying to make some sense out of what life
has remaining for me. Ironically I published my first magazine for my school in
March with an article about how I missed a semester owing to the fact that my dad
got too sick and couldn’t work then so there wasn’t enough me to pay up
and write my exams and six months after i'm writing another one about missing an
entire semester again cos he passed away. This year has turned out in so many
ways unimaginable. So many highs and lows, so many good and bad. But facing the
present, I think its most important that we bury him soonest and quell this
issues with my kinsfolk God see us
through. Till tomorrow before I check in again… Adios )
